This banjo is comprised of the following parts. The rim is a prewar Gibson rim, 9781-02. It is from the series known as the "Red Kels". It has a Bill Blaylock made / Ronnie Bales designed tone ring. The tone ring was modeled after the prewar rings in the Ken Harvey banjo and Jerry Keys' 75. The neck was built by Wyatt Fawley. The resonator was built by Steve Gill and bound and finished by Robin Smith. The metal is Prucha, engraved by Nick Kimmons formerly of GIbson and plated by Steve Huber. The tuner buttons are prewar pearl on Waverly tuners.
This banjo is an extremely good sounding banjo. Please listen to the sound file of the banjo in my media section. The link is below under the more info URL.
